POPPY

CAVOODLE - ASIAN STYLE + CARVED HEART

Poppy is a Cavoodle who has more of a Poodle coat. Prue styles her in an Asian Fusion trim with a heart shape carved into her back. A lot of work has gone in the preparation of the coat. Prue has trained this dog to stand still and enjoy the grooming process.

Part 1 Body shaping, and blocking the heart shape on the body with a #4F and #5F.

Part 2 Prue puts a flare on the legs

Part 3 The love heart! Prue shapes and styles a heart shape by using curved scissors and blenders.

Part 4 The face. Prue starts by removing hair from the corner of the dog's eyes - this highlights the soul of the dog.

ROCKET

BICHON - ASYMMETRICAL HEAD

Rocket and Michelle are back to show you this little tweak on the mushroom head for asymmetrique chic!

Part 1 This is similar to a Mushroom style head with a few tweaks

Part 2 Bring on the bling! Michelle puts some EXTRA touches on this stylish trim.

CAS

BICHON - MUSHROOM HEAD

Cas is groomed in an Asia Style Teddy Bear groom with a longer body and tubular legs, finishing with a Mushroom Head. What a coat!

Part 1 An Asian Style groom is traditionally clipped with a short body. Jess shows you how to be creative by grooming Cas’s body with longer attachment combs.

Part 2 Before starting on the legs, ensure the dog is groomed out well. Jess demonstrates how and where to start the rear leg using scissors.

Part 3 Commencing the “cut in” of the front legs - this will help save time as clipping is quicker than scissoring.

With the front feet, apply the same rules as the back feet - ie, no hair is to touch the pad. Don’t forget, while you are learning you can go over your scissor work with thinners or chunkers to smooth out.

Part 4 Step by step Mushroom Head

Part 2 Here Sue goes through clipping in the body lines for legs and head, and how to blend the longer hair from the shorter hair

Part 3 Scissoring the perfect round foot. Tricks to blend in the legs and symmetry with the front and back legs. The importance of overall balance

Part 4 Setting in an oval donut muzzle

Part 5 Setting in the head. Shaping the ears and top of the head to achieve the magnificent mushroom!

ROCKET

BICHON - BEDLINGTON EARS + BLING

Michelle and Rocket (a Bichon) show how to acheive the classic shorter body and flared legs popular with Asian Style grooming. Bedlington ears plus bling to finish really elevate this groom!

Part 1 Michelle explains how, if your dog has a thinner coat, which attachment is best to allow showing off of the shoulder but still allowing for the flared legs. Where to use a blade for a quick finish.

Part 2 Cutting in Bedlington Ears using a #30, and which danger points to look out for. Using reverse curved scissors and thinners to soften the Bichon expression to get the perfect Asian Style head, ending with a smiley under-jaw.

Part 3 Finishing up Rocket’s head by shaping and setting in above the Bedlington ears and over the top of the skull and into the crest. Asian Style is all about the expression, so how you finish off the brow is imperative.

Part 4 Understanding the angles to set in the legs, optimising exaggeration. Learn where to scissor tight, and where to leave the hair longer.

Part 5 Moving on to the front legs, scissoring the big flare on the front leg while setting in the top and foot of the front leg.

Part 6 Bling time!
