SYNOPSIS

Understanding the foundations of Dog Training, Handling and Obedience - and why dogs do what they do - is an important part of ensuring the safety of dogs and their handlers in many canine related fields of employment. This course looks at how we can work safely with dogs, how we can relate to dogs and how we can in turn train dogs using the correct equipment, and the most up to date methods and techniques.

This course looks deeply into the technical skills needed to advance groomers repertoire, keep up with trends and have some creative influence on this exciting and sometimes challenging world of dog grooming. We have chosen to demonstrate these skills on Model Dogs so you can best understand each pattern. These Model Dog skills are easily transferred to our real life dogs.

Whilst there are some rules to Asian Styling, creativity is at the heart of this skill. There is simply no better person to take us through this course than the wonderful Sue Wright.Sue Wright is a Diploma certified and award winning Pet Stylist, IJA Judge and Australian Model Dog Team Leader. She was born in the UK and currently lives in Woodford, Queensland Australia. She enjoys competing at a national level and has gone on to win numerous awards for her grooming, but her biggest passion to date is Asian influenced pet styling, satisfying both her creative desire and her passion for dogs. Sue’s work has been recognised and published in books and magazines world wide, including ‘The Complete Guide to Asian Styling’, ‘Modern Styles around the World’, ‘Toilettage Magazine’ and the prestigious Japanese magazine ‘Trim’. After selling her busy Salon on the Sunshine Coast, she now enjoys pampering pets from her state of the art, home based salon and school in Woodford, Queensland. Sue also enjoys teaching, presenting & hosting seminars for professional groomers.
