2. Brushing your Dog's Tail
Brushing the Tail
The tail is prone to knots due to constant movement. Brush it gently, either with your dog standing or sitting. Support the tailbone to prevent discomfort. Begin with a slicker brush, brushing hair down onto your fingers. Part the hair in the middle and brush one side at a time. Move your fingers down the tail, supporting it from beneath. If it's a long tail, consider having your dog sit at the edge of a surface. After slicker brushing, use the comb to ensure there are no missed knots. If the comb gets stuck, go back with the slicker brush. Ensure the tail is fully brushed and maintained.
