Wire Coat

  • Combination of soft, dense undercoat with wiry guard hairs

  • Traditionally dogs are hand-stripped rather than clipped with clippers – enhances wiry feel.

TUCKER

Wire coated dogs have an undercoat. When a dog is bathed, the clean undercoat forces the guard hairs and coarse coat to stand up. Getting ready for a show or comp? Alicia and Tucker have some great advice about bathing the wire coat - tips, timing and techniques.
